On Tuesday, 20th May, while on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Kwara State, our Wellbeing Foundation Africa Kwara Programmes Team had the opportunity to witness the UNICEF Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food handover ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall in Ilorin.

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa acknowledges the collaborative efforts of UNICEF in addressing the urgent challenge of child malnutrition in Nigeria through the official handover and deployment of 3,964 cartons of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food under the Child Nutrition Fund, a timely intervention that brings renewed efforts towards improving the health and resilience of the 40% of children in Kwara State reported as stunted, and the nearly 300,000 children identified as affected by wasting and in urgent need of support.
WBFA remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting multi-sectoral partnerships that strengthen baby-friendly programmes and maternal, infant, and young child health, nutrition, and wellbeing across Kwara State and Nigeria. We look forward to continued collaboration to improve outcomes for our most vulnerable child citizens.
